The One with Kristina McBride

Alas, Egmont Debut Author Week is drawing to a close... but I'm lucky enough to have the most recent Egmont debut to go out with a bang. I remember when I first read about Kristina McBride's The Tension of Opposites--all it took was reading the Publisers Marketplace listing to hook me! Needless to say, I'm very excited about picking up a copy when I'm out and about this weekend. Be sure to check out her fabulous book trailer if you haven't already seen it! Ze Interview

What did you want to grow up to be when you were ten years old?

Easy – A librarian, hair stylist, or a teacher. But most of all, I’ve always dreamed of being an author.

If you were lost in space, who are the three people you'd want with you?

My husband, because he cooks everything in our house, and I might starve without him. He’s pretty cool too, so I’d be lost without him. I also couldn’t go very far without my two kids, so I’d have to take them along. We’d need tons of chocolate – I know, I know, not a person, but I would NOT survive without my daily dose of M&M’s. (Am I cheating? The M&M’s are all characters now . . .)

What was the last movie you saw that you hated? How would you rewrite it or change it?

Wow. I can’t remember the last movie I watched, which is totally pathetic, because I love movies! Life with a debut novel nearing release, a husband who is too much fun to be around, and two young children leaves me little time to enjoy the finer things. One of my favorite movies of all time is Cruel Intentions, so if I had a chance, I’d probably pop that in the DVD player. But I would not change a single thing about the devious plotline. It’s perfect! (It’s okay, call me a total cheat. I can take it!)

Thanks, Kristina! Be sure to check out The Tension of Opposites, available now from these retailers!
