Well, Good, Fine

Alas, I did not make the Books of Wonder event today, nor did Anna and I get to see the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMa. The exhibit was completely sold out by the time we got there, so there wasn't much we could do about it. I think the fact that it was all around crummy weather and a mid-afternoon Saturday worked against us... I also feel quite bad because it was my turn to find us a place to eat lunch, and I failed pretty miserably. Not going to the Books of Wonder event was a combination of feeling under the weather + Work work + trying to meet my writing goal after sucking something hardcore over the past two weeks. I've been stuck on a scene (the second to last one, so you can imagine my frustration) for what feels like forever, and only broke through it today. I'm feeling much better about MAP, and I'm a little bit in love with my second project which I don't think I've talked about here. I'm ALSO trying to clear my schedule in case another project lands in my lap over the next few weeks, but we'll see about that. Did everyone have a chance to see the high quality version of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer this weekend before it got yanked? I think it's one of the extras in the Blu Ray edition of Half Blood Prince, which I fully intend to go out and buy on Tuesday when it hits shelves. Anyway, it's amazing and completely unreal to think that it's almost over. I'm actually a little relieved that it's being split into two movies, and that we have to wait for both of them. (By the way, I feel like it's very fair that they're making us wait eight months between the movies. I would never want them to rush to crap these movies out like some OTHER franchise...) Not that Harry Potter will ever go gently into that good night, but it gives us all something to look forward to! I really wanted to post a few screencaps to flail with everyone over, but WB is very strict and I know there are people out in the world that DON'T like to be spoiled. Go forth and Google, intrepid friends and courageous souls!

As you can tell, I'm in a pretty good mood lately. Some of it has to do with a couple really great reviews for BW on GoodReads, some of it has to do with the fact I get to see my family in three weeks or so, some of it has to do with possible future prospects. Mainly the family thing, methinks. I haven't seen my parents in seven months! I was lucky enough to see my sister for two days in July, but that wasn't enough. I just wish I wasn't so behind on Christmas present shopping!!

Have you guys come across any original or wonderful gifts to give? Everyone in my family is so hard to shop for, but I think I have a few ideas...

Here's to hoping for a great week!
