The One About Home

I took that picture on Wednesday, just as the plane was crossing into Arizona. I'm a total sucker for scenic views (who isn't?), and this trip really reinforced how beautiful and diverse the West's landscape is. Also, how much turbulence you get going over the numerous mountains, but still.

My flight was looooong. For some reason, I actually managed to get a fairly good night's sleep before, so I got maybe an hour and a half of sleep, and divided the rest of my time reading Beautiful Creatures and watching the extended edition of The Two Towers. I felt really sorry for the poor guy next to me, who had brought absolutely nothing to do for the entire five hour flight and, after drinking two cups of coffee, couldn't sleep at all.

Anyway, sorry for such a short, random post! I'm spending as much time with my family as humanly possible. I love seeing how much things have changed since I was last home, though it always does make me a little sad to know that I don't really live here anymore. But let me tell you, the 50 and 60 degree weather is making me REALLY sad I don't live here. The thought of going back to 20 and 30-something weather makes me want to shrivel up and hibernate until May. My parents were very sweet (and enthusiastic) about buying me another coat and boots I can wear in the snow. You know, stuff that goes on super sale in Arizona because no one ever needs it here. ;)

I'm trying to catch up on all the emails that I owe to everyone, so I promise I'll try to get on that by Tuesday!
